Life gets busy. We all get sidetracked. Even things near and dear to our hearts are frequently left behind in a world that does not support our basic need and desire to communicate with spirit. We need to stay on course.

It’s easy to lose focus when no one else sees what you see, hears what you hear or feels what you feel.

We have a multitude of worldly responsibilities that capture our attention.  It’s also easy to be mindful, set a simple intention to stay on course and connect to guidance.

“A good intention clothes itself with power.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

You know you have this inner guidance system. You know you want to learn to communicate with spirit more easily more often. It’s challenging to stay on course. I still make periodic visits to the land of soulless daily activities.

Family, relationships and work are on top of the list of distractions. No, we don’t need or want to shut them out. Most of us are not destined to be monks and give up those rich relationships and rewarding endeavors. It’s both fun and challenging to live fully in the world!

Setting an intention will help you stay on course.

I recently met Maria at a local workshop for learning your intuitive gifts with Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting. Maria is at least half my age and she had the same story. She’s had divine experiences and knows communication with spirit is real. Her story included a relationship that pulled her off course. She got back into her divine gifts then work took over. It happens to all of us at different times and in similar ways.

What can you do to stay on course when life is overwhelming?

“Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen Hard.
Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh.”

~ Mary Anne Radmacher

Simple words can become your guidepost during difficult times or those busy times that are so distracting. Let go and let it in. Here’s a simple, intentional reminder provided in the workshop, Talking to Spirit and Angelic Guides, with Rachel Horton White:

“I now know I can do this.”

It’s simple. It reaffirms what you know and bolsters your confidence. Using now brings it all to the present. Say it a few times throughout your day and watch what happens. Work it into your morning routine to set the tone for the day.

It’s a light focus you can practice easily and begin to get comfortable with small wins. Setting an intention and remembering to bring that intention into your awareness each day is your stepping stone to bigger wins and your ability to communicate with spirit.

Do you set intentions to stay on course?  What works best for you?
